Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in his signature style. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta the place she was raised is Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical journey began in the church where she sang and performed piano. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical education began in the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The debut song featuring her voice was Stalk You which was a song from Japan's house 12; since then it has been remixed and a component of her set. Her voice was also added to the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. She took on the role of primary keyboardist at Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 for a position as Choral Director of Dreamgirls which was a stage production in Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was the subject of national media notice during the four shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
