Winona-Ryder

Winona Laura Horowitz who is professionally known in the media as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The name was given to her by her parents for the town in which she grew as a child. Michel Horowitz is her father as well as Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's mother and father also happen to be Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. She has a younger brother Uria and half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder's family relocated to Mendocino County, California, when she was just seven years old. In Mendocino County, they did not have electricity. Ryder was a prolific reader because of the lack of television. Ryder began taking acting classes at the age of Ryder was 12, at the American Conservatory Theatre. Her first role was a success on the big screen in 1986 when she was 15 years old. Ryder was bullied at her high school. Her acting career, she hoped to help, could have helped her. However, the plan didn't pan out. It didn't stop her from pursuing dreams. Her big break came in 1988 with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play successful roles in many movies. In 1993, she was awarded an Oscar Prize to be awarded for The Age of Innocence.
